Fall is now
upon us and as with the magical phenomenon of the leaves changing
colors, we too at HACE are introducing some changes to
our newsletter's appearance. We hope you like our new format!
If you

On Wednesday,
October 13th, join us at the headquarters of Walgreens, one of
the fastest growing companies in America. Walgreens would
like to hire professionals with backgrounds in IT, accounting,
finance, merchandising, human resources and store operations.

Because of the tremendous expansion plans,
Walgreens is seeking quality individuals from all industries that
are willing to work hard and contribute to the company's growth in
retail operations as well as their growing pharmacy benefits
management administration business. Management from all areas of

On Thursday,
November 11th, HACE is hosting our first Houston Career
Conference. HACE will showcase some of the country's leading
companies, government agencies, academic institutions and other
employers who value Latino diversity and who are interested in
hiring Latino professionals. Our Career Conference includes
workshops, resume clinics, mock interviews and the opportunity to
meet with up to 50 employers. Join us at the Houston Renaissance
Hotel from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for this extraordinary event.

As part of our
development of Latino superstars of the future, HACE conducts a
seven month structured mentoring program for leading Latino
students at key
partner schools. We are
currently looking for Mentors interested in positively impacting
the lives of these up-and-coming Latino professionals by serving
as role models and sharing your personal and professional
experiences with them. HACE conducts a structured program and
facilitates the logistics, content and administration of these
sessions so that your role is easy. If you are interested
in serving as a College Mentor and can make a commitment to
attend seven sessions during this academic year, please contact
Rosa Alvarado at
rosa@hace-usa.org and provide her
your resume. HACE and our students thank you in advance for
sharing your success with our next generation of Latino leaders.
The deadline to register to be a Mentor is October 10th.
Speaking of
Rosa, please welcome Rosa Alvarado to the HACE team as our Manager
of College & High School Outreach for the Chicago/Midwest Region.
Rosa comes to HACE after spending most of her career in
post-secondary education and the advancement of Latino youth. As
a graduate of San Francisco State University, she also brings to
HACE personal experience from our newest area of expansion -
California. Please welcome Rosa to HACE!
